Lakers win in overtime 101-96, take 2-0 series lead...

The Los Angeles Lakers needed some luck and then Kobe Bryant did his thing in leading the Lakers to a 2-0 series lead by defeating the Orlando Magic 101-96 in overtime. With .6 seconds remaining the Magic had the ball on an inbounds play and Courtney Lee tried for a tip in to win the game but came up just short letting the game go to overtime. Pau Gasol scored 24 points including seven in the OT to go along with 10 rebounds and 3 assists in the winning effort. Kobe has rediscovered his teammates by leading the team in assists for the second straight game to go along with his team high 29 points. Lamar Odom provided a spark off the bench with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Orlando's big three were exactly that but the rest of the team did not show up. Dwight Howard had 17 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks, and 4 steals becoming only the second player in the history of the NBA playoffs to put up those kind of numbers(Hakeem Olajuwon was the first). Rashard Lewis threw in a game high 34 points with 11 rebounds and 7 assists and Hedo Turkgolu had 22 points while playing the point guard position most of the night. The Lakers have this series in the bag unless they pull one of their patented let's not show up for this game syndrome, but you know it lasts for four straight games. The Magic still have a lot of room to grow and as long as they keep this team together they will be competing for championships for some years to come. Game 3 is Tuesday night in Orlando.
