Red Wings crush Penguins 5-0, take 3-2 series lead...

The Detroit Red Wings absolutely crushed the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-0 in Game 5 last night. The Penguins played horrendously and the Wings defense was suffocating allowing the Pens only 22 shots on goal. The Red Wings got Pavel Datsyuk back and he sparked the teams power play unit to an efficient 3-9 including drawing penalties and assisting on goals during a 6 minute period in the second when they went 3-4 and converting on a 5-on-3. Many of the Pittsburgh penalties were stupid and unnecessary and were usually done out of frustration, Evegni Malkin got rocked by Datsyuk and later took one of his three lazy penalties resulting in a Detroit goal. Marc-Andre Fleury had the worst game of his career giving up all five goals and looking lost for big chunks of the second period before being pulled with 4 minutes left in the period. The Pens defense wasn't much better contributing to Fleury's awful night by allowing a defense man to plant himself in front of Fleury all night long. The Penguins were thoroughly embarrassed and should be ashamed of themselves, but at the same time it's not like they were on their game and received the butt whooping, they should be able to regroup at home. Game 6 is Tuesday in Pittsburgh and the Penguins need to come out strong and fast if they want to force a Game 7.
