Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson passed away at age 68...

Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson passed away yesterday at the age of 68 after succumbing to a battle with cancer. Johnson took a leave of absence from the team in May so he could focus full time on fighting the tumor that was found on his spine. Johnson was extremely influential in how defenses have approached the game over the last 10-15 years. He is famous for bringing a tough physical defense to Philadelphia in a scheme that attacked the offense with blitzes from all different angles and on either side of the line. As a Steelers fan I always respected Johnson for his blitzing schemes and hated/loved watching the two teams play because they were so similar in defensive schemes and it was usually a knock down drag out fight and whoever had the ball last usually won. Jim Johnson will be sorely missed in the NFL and my condolences go out to his friends and family.
R.I.P. Jim Johnson 1941-2009
