Lakers re-sign Lamar Odom...
The Los Angeles Lakers all but assured themselves of repeating as NBA Champions by finally coming to terms with Lamar Odom. Odom's new contract is worth $33 million over 4-years with the Lakers getting the option on his fourth year. This ended a month long tense negotiation between the two that was on the rocks at one point when Odom flirted with signing elsewhere. He finally realized his best chance at getting paid and winning another championship was in Los Angeles with the recent addition of Ron Artest and of course Kobe not opting out of his contract. Odom helped the Lakers claim their 15th NBA title in June averaging 12.3 points and 9.1 boards during the playoffs while coming off the bench. All of the other teams in the West have made moves but none of them have made a big enough splash to dethrone the Lakers.
