NFL commissioner Roger Goodell conditionally reinstated Michael Vick today. The conditions are that he can sign with a team, participate in practices, training camp, and meetings, and he can play in the last two preseason games but he will be unable to play in regular season games until possibly October.
This is a good move by the commish because at this point in the offseason Vick is at a disadvantage right now because he doesn't know any teams playbook and there are still questions as to whether he is in game shape or not. The only problem I have with this is that I don't think the NFL should set those rules, I think it should be on the team who signs Vick to decide what he partakes in, the NFL should have just said he is free to sign with a team but he is still suspended indefinitely(Week 6).
Right now there are no vocal takers for Vick's services but I'm sure there are a few teams who would like him on their roster and once camps start injuries will force someone to take a look at Vick. I welcome him back he has a right to do what he loves and he has already paid his debt to society. It will be exciting to see where he lands and how he is used in that team's system. I'm not sure who will take him, maybe New England but I don't know if the owner wants that kind of publicity, or possibly Dallas since Jerry Jones is looking to sell seats to his new Billion dollar stadium, or San Fransisco who still needs a QB, or maybe Denver since their coach ran the other QB out of town but whoever he signs with they shouldn't be expecting huge dividends in his first season.
