Derrick Mason pulls a Brett Favre, unretires...
The Baltimore Ravens received a big early surprise when Derrick Mason pulled a Brett Favre circa 2008 and showed up for the start of training camp less than three weeks after announcing his retirement. When Mason retired it left a huge void in the Ravens wide receiving unit but now that he is back the team will get an enormous emotional lift along with his always reliable hands. Mason, who announced his retirement after his friend and former teammate Steve McNair was found shot to death, released a statement saying "It was a tough decision, but I think it was a good decision for me to come back. I needed to evaluate my life, football and my career." During their run to the AFC Championship game Mason led the Ravens in receptions(80) and receiving yards(1,037) and he added another 12 catches for 190 yards and a touchdown during the playoffs.
