Edgerrin James signs with the Seahawks...
Edgerrin James and the Seattle Seahawks agreed to a one-year contract yesterday worth about $2 million, and the Seahawks released T.J. Duckett to make room for James. James is on the back side of his career but he proved last year during Arizona's improbable run to the Super Bowl that he still had something left in the tank running for 336 yards to end the regular season and playoffs. The move makes sense for the Seahawks because of James experience, versatility, and durability and he should fit in nicely with the offense. This gives Matt Hasselback another option in the passing game and James is one of the best at picking up the blitz, he probably won't contribute that much to the running game early on but he could make this offense dangerous later in the season.(I thought New Orleans should have tried to sign him because they lack depth and quality at the running back position and he would have helped solidify that but I guess the Saints' brass feel they can win with what they have.)This is a good move on both parts and the Seahwaks will surprise people this year and win the division.
