Lebron opts to not sign an extension...
Lebron James opted to not sign a contract extension that would have kept him with the Cleveland Cavaliers pass this upcoming season and he will be allowed to test the free agent market. Not all is bad because he hasn't ruled out re-signing with Cleveland but he just wants to see what options are available. I still don't think he is going anywhere else because if he does he will be in a worse situation then he had with the Cavs, because all the teams clearing cap space to sign him have gotten rid of any good players that could help him a championship, but Cavs fans have to be really nervous right now. Lebron is just playing his cards correctly right now because if the Cavs implode and fire their GM Danny Ferry and head coach Mike Brown and Shaq doesn't live up to his billing then Lebron will probably want to leave but if the free agent moves pay off and they win a title then he will stay. The main problem I have with him not signing the extension is that their will be a huge cloud over this franchise until he makes his decision and it could potentially be a huge distraction for a team trying to win an NBA title. You have to give it to Lebron though because he is keeping the entire NBA on it's heel and their will be a big buzz around the NBA all season long.
