#5Boise State squeezes past Tulsa 28-21....

The #5 Boise State Broncos(6-0) continue their push for a bid in the BCS National title by remaining undefeated after barely knocking off the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes(4-2) 28-21.

The Broncos quickly fell behind Tulsa when wildcat quarterback A.J. Whitmore connected on a big play of 53-yards with Damaris Johnson for a 7-0 lead. Boise State would respond though when Kellen Moore tossed an 8-yard touchdown pass Tommy Gallarda and the Broncos were successful on the 2-point conversion making the score 8-7. Just before the end of the first quarter Tulsa would have another opportunity to take the lead. The usual QB for the Hurricanes G.J. Kinne found Trae Johnson in the end zone from 15-yards out for a 14-8 lead.

Once again Moore and the Broncos responded when found Austin Pettis open in the end zone for a 17-yard touchdown and BSU would go on top for good 15-14. Before the end of the half the Broncos extended their lead on a field goal by Kyle Brotzman making the score 18-14. in the second half the Borncos would continue to jump all over Tulsa when Moore tossed his last touchdown of the night to an open Gallarda for a 2-yard score and a 25-14 lead. Brotzman would hit another field goal to make the score 28-14.

The Golden Hurricanes were not done though as they traveled 91-yards on two plays both of which were passing plays from Kinne to Slick Shelley and the last one covered 55-yards and brought Tulsa within a touchdown at 28-21. On their next possession the Broncos defense forced their fourth three and out to preserve the win.
