Even though Cleveland Browns new head coach Eric Mangini said at the beginning of the season that once he picked a starter for quarterback he was going to stick with him for the whole season barring injury, well that lasted less than 3 weeks. Yesterday Mangini announced that Derek Anderson will be his QB that will start at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Anderson threw three picks in the second half of the Baltimore game last week and hasn't really done much to be given the starting job but at the same time Brady Quinn didn't do much to be given the job and once he had it he didn't do anything to prove that it was the right move.
I guess the Browns are hoping D.A. can revive the franchise like he did in 2007 but the team only lost the first game that year before he was declared the starter and he was able to get things going right away but in this case the team is 0-3 and they haven't scored a touchdown in "real time" of a game in 9 games, which he has been apart of the abysmal play for the offense during the stretch.
What does this say about the head coach that less than three weeks into the season he makes the change, he even said it's not all on Quinn but he made the change anyway. They traded away their best offensive talent in Kellen Winslow before the season started and now they wonder why the offense is terrible, maybe its because they kept the guy who has bricks for hands instead of keeping the guy who provided the attitude and fire that the offense needed.
Both quarterbacks will be gone after the season and the Browns will use their #1 pick on Colt McCoy or Sam Bradford and they will be at the bottom of the NFL for the foreseeable future.
Oh and congratulations to the city of Cleveland for being announced as the new home of the 2014 Gay Games. I guess when you haven't fielded a competitive team in a while you will take any type of competition you can get. HAHA
