Phils return to the World Series for second consecutive year....

The Philadelphia Phillies will make a return trip to the World Series to defend their championship title after knocking off the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-4. The Phils used a flurry of home runs to bat away the Dodgers and became the first team since the New York Yankees did it in 2000-2001. Jayson Werth kicked things off in the first inning hitting a three run homer giving Philadelphia a 3-1 lead. In the second Pedro Feliz hit a solo shot to further their lead 4-2. After the Phils scored two runs the old fashion way Shane Victorino hit a two run home run in the sixth to put the Phils up 8-3 and Werth hit his second homer of the game in the same inning and gave them a 9-3 lead. The Dodgers would get another run but Philadelphia canceled it out with a run of their own. Ryan Howard was named the MVP of the National League Championship Series after going five of 15 hitting two home runs, knocking in eight runs and scoring a run in each game. The Phillies now wait for the winner of the ALCS and the World Series is slated to begin Wednesday October 28th.
Phillies win best of 7 series 4-1
