More rain pushes U.S. Open finale to Monday, hopefully...
The rain shortened the day on Saturday meaning they will attempt to start playing today at noon and they will hopefully crown a champion by Monday morning. Ricky Barnes is atop the leader board shooting a record 8 under 132 giving him a shot lead over Lucas Glover and the best midway score in the tournaments 109 year history. Tiger Woods is 11 shots back and unless he can pull one of the many tricks out of his bag he is going to loose this U.S. Open. Phil Mickelson is 1 under but he can't wait for this tournament to get over so he can go on vacation with his wife before they start her battle with breast cancer. The rain is the worse thing that can happen for the PGA because it pushes back the final round to when people will be working and most won't be able to attend or watch on t.v. The rain also neutralizes the talent so therefore Tiger won't be competing when they need it the most. Oh well I guess I was wrong on thinking Tiger would win but I did say that only Tiger or the course could beat him and that's what it looks like right now. Hats off to Ricky Barnes hopefully he can pull it off and not ruin his tremendous start with some choke job down the stretch.
