Yankees win, Red Sox lose....

The New York Yankees were taken to extra innings by the Minnesota Twins but clutch homers from Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira gave the Yankees a 2-0 series lead with a 4-3 victory Friday night. ARoid hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at 3 and then offseason free agent pickup Teixeira hit a leadoff walk off homer for the win in the bottom of the 11th bringing the raucous home crowd to their feet.
Yankees lead best of 5 series 2-0

The Los Angeles Angels continue to stifle the Boston Red Sox once powerful bats with superb pitching and good defense and took a commanding 2-0 series lead with 4-1 win. Jered Weaver out dueled Josh Beckett pitching 7 and a third inning striking out 7 and giving up the only Red Sox run in the series while Beckett gave all four runs in 6 and two-thirds.
Angels lead best of 5 series 2-0
